Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
I've been trapped into the recent Verizon/Alltel merger. With this, I am very dissatisfied with the service Verizon has provided or the lack thereof, as they do not offer the same package I had with Alltel. My question is this: I did not sign a contract with Verizon however with Alltel. Can I be legally held to that contract or can I get out of the contract w/o paying the $200 penalty per line?
Thank you!

Ask Verizon. Probably they acquired the contract rights as part of the merger so, in essence, the Aklltel contract became theirs to enforce. There might have been something in the alltel contract that would have prevented this, but I doubt it.
