Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
My wife and purchased a "lot" at a Florida RV Resort. The rules and regulations of the Home Owners Assn. controlled by the resort developer allow us to add landscaping, extend the pavers our RV is parked on, add a storage shed and irrigation system to our lot. The resort provided a list of "approved" contractors for these services and others. We now learn the developer requires these "approved" contractors to pay him 15% of the cost of any services which is added to our bill without any disclosure to us (ie. cost of service $10000.00. Bill to us, $11500.00). The additional charge by the developer is NOT disclosed on the statement and, to the best of our knowledge, the developer does not show the amount a income to him.

The initial question is whether the HOA documents require "approved" contractors to do any work
