in 1996 i had a civil cased dismissed in the state of Mass case was dismissed Rule 4 J of the mass rules of civil procedure , I am now living in Fla can and recieved a letter from a collection agency for the same case Can i be taken to court again

Hi. Regardless of the dismissal, I don't think you have anything to worry about on a debt that is 14 years old.
If you have made payments on this debt within the last few years, then it might be possible for the entity that currently owns the debt to file a lawsuit against you. If you have not made any payments on the debt since the 1990's, then it is too late to file a lawsuit against you.
If the debt is that old, this attempt to collect a debt may be a violation of the FDCPA, but I would need to review the matter more closely. Want to know the law?
