Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Account with a merged cellphone company

I had a cellphone several years ago with a company called

Powertel. They have merged with a company called Voicestream

(now called TMobile). I do not truly owe the debt and have not

heard from them in years. The new company (TMobile) has

apporved me for a new cell phone account.

Could they legally go back and attach the old balance on the old

number to my new account or somehow charge my credit card for

what they said I owed on the old account.

Long story short. Can a balance from one debt be moved to

another newer account.

Thanks,

Re: Account with a merged cellphone company

If the company merged, then the accounts payable survive. Accordingly, if you owed the money, you still owe the money.
