Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
Hi! I need some advice. I used to work for an online school and they offered free tuition to it's employees. They ask that you pay the tuition back if you are terminated before the 1 year requirement. I was tenanted 2 months after the year requirement of not having to pay the tuition back. Next thing I know, I'm billed $8000 and have to pay in full. Now being that I am a student already receiving federal assistance to pay my schooling I don't have $8000 lying around. Now it's ruining my credit! Do they have grounds to charge me such an amount even though I was hired for the year marker?

It is all in the agreement. Hopefully it is in writing or at least you have evidence this was part of the employment package. Therefore, if you are correct, then you do not own the money.
