Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
Answering a summons from outside the U.S. I voluntarily surrendered a vehicle back to a creditor for repossession. I was out of a job and moved outside of the U.S. to find work. I wasn't behind in my payments at the time, but was on the verge. I have received a summons from the credit union who financed the vehicle. What should be my next step. I will not be able to attend a court date.

Ignoring this by not appearing or getting a lawyer to assist you will only make things worse. Find a lawyer in your area that deals with repos becasue many times there is no case because they failed to follow the repo laws. See www.ConsumerLawyerHelp.com for assistance.
