Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
Can he be arrested
My brother owes appro. $25K in credit cards and is unable to pay back since he lost his job and lost all his savings after some bad investments. He resides overeseas, but comes to Florida every 3 months and he is a legal US resident. He has been threatened by the creditors to be sued and taken to court for repayment . My questions are: Can they sue him? If he is served while abroad and is not able to travel to appear in court, can he be arrested when he returns to Florida. What can happen? What shall he do to avoid all this.
