Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Authorization to settle

Hi there,

Someone forged my name on a credit card application years ago, and I went to mediation intending to prove it wasn't my signature. I ended up unknowingly signing a judgment against myself. I am trying to appeal this, and while doing so, the judge asked the plaintiff's attorney if they had filed the appropriate paperwork with the court authorizing an outside attorney to represent them in mediation against me and if he had ''full settlement authority.'' I cannot get an attorney to call me back regarding this. I just wondered if anyone knows what it means if they did not file this with the court. Does it mean that what happened in mediation is null and void?

I would really appreciate an answer to this if you have one. Thanks for your time!
