Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Can I go and take back my car from my friend who only paid 6 months worth of loan repayment (which is 100% in my name) I want to take over the finance rather than end up owing 12k on a vehicle I do not have in my possession and will be paying for for many years. My credit was looking good until this debt compliments of a 'friend' came into place
