Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
bank account garnishment
I was an office of a corportaion until resignation in late October 2007. A former employee filed a Fair Wages suite agains us in early October 2007. For the past year I have been living in a different city and was unware of this case, becase former business partner fail to notify me. I never recived any notices from the court or any lawyers. However lastweek I came to realized that my entireback account has been garnish and will continue until the debt is repaid. Because the had rule in favored of the former employee because our failur to response to the case (my former business partner does not have a bank account). I have since obtain copies of the court recoreds, which show that court documents we sent to the business mailing address and now my new mailing address an not my new address. The reason this situation got out of hand. What can I possible do to clear up this situation as I am a single parent and to have my only source of fund to be taken is devasting. What can be do to fix this situation

Re: bank account garnishment
You need to find a lawyer to help you set aside the judgment against you for lack of notice. You need to do this quickly, though, because there is a time limit on this type of motion.
