Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
I have a bill with Orange Park Medical Center for $467. and have been paying them $10 a month. I got a letter today that says they turned it over to a collection agency. Can they do that since I am paying them each month?

Yes. If you had an agreement to pay them $10/month, they probably wouldn't send you to an agency because they agreed to accept your payment and if you kept up your end of deal, there's be no reason for them to send you to collections. (Sending you to agency costs money). However, I suspect that you decided all by yourself to send $10/month. Perhaps that's all you can send; but that doesn't mean that OPMC can't send you to collections.
