Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Can they take it?

I have a boat moored in a sailing club and I have not payed my monthley dews for some time now. They have put a chain around the bow so that I cannot take it untill I pay. Is that legal? And if I cut the chain and take my boat can they reposses it somehow?

No. Break the lock and sail away. Otherwise they may try a nonjudicial sale of the boat pursuant to Section 328.17 of the Florida Statutes. Contact me should you need legal reprsentation.
