brother's girlfriend left with my money

my brother's ex-girlfriend borrowed $700.00 from me and my husband 2 years ago for she was behind on the mortgage payment. with the understanding it would be paid back as soon as possible, she recently left my brother without paying us a single dime. we wrote her a check to be deposited in her bank. i have no idea where she is living now. how can i get my money? please help.

Since she is no place to be found, the next source of funds would be your brother. Although he is not legally liable to you, he out to pay.
