Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I keep getting calls regarding a vehicle I cosigned. The payments are atleast 3 years behind. The repo people have not picked up the vehicle because have not been able to locate. Legally what can the lender/debt collectors do? A note was left on my door that they are going to start legal processing. So what does this mean?

It means you are responsible for the debt. They will sue you and get a judgment against you for the amount of the debt plus legal fees and interest. I suggest that when you get the papers you hire an attorney to get you out of this if possible and locate that car immediately and the person you co-signed for.
