do i have a chance toget my money back

i lent my grandaughter 7500 to buy a car with the oral agreement she would pay me back .i havent received a penny .this was february 2008.she knew at the time she was pregnant i didn`t.know she said she needed a car to get a job .she had the baby in july and hasnn`t worked .since has sold the car i bought and has bought another one thinking i cant go after her for the money .

There's an old saying: "An oral contract isn't worth the paper it's written on."

Even if you sued and proved the money wasn't a gift (a tough case for you), how would you collect from this girl with a new baby and no job?
