Child Education Resposibility

My ex-wife of 7 years defaulted on my 7 year old sons private school ($1200). Divorce papers say nothing about me being responsible for my sons educations. Credit colletions say yes I am. I did not sign any papers for my sons private shool I was against it. I live in Myrtle Beach, SC. My Ex-wife lives in Tampa, FL. Am I responsible???

If the facts are as you say, then subject to S.C. law, you have no liability. If the agency continues to dun you, see a competent atty in your locale to protect your rights under the provisions of the FDCPA.

Unless you have signed papers,contract, note, agreement or are ordered by the divorce decree no. If they continue collection efforts contact an attorney to file a fair debt collection act lawsuit and you can make some money. Good luck
