Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

civil court

I was sued by Citibank for $8,500. I had letter of settlement dated for 11/24 and canceled check dated 11/29. Judge said if I can show prior cases where it should be accepted as payment in full, she will rule in my favor. Where to look?
