Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
Civil judgement summons
rcvd summons from an attorney that a lawsuite has been filed for possible judgement. Contacted attorney for Suntrust Bank - who will accept payments so it won't go into a judgement, but states that I owe $5,130.40. I had a person lend me money - husband was laid off - Thier check they gave me bounced - but not before I paid 2 mortgage payments. So attorney is stating I owe $5,130.40. They are stating that I need to put a down payment of $1000.00 and then make payments of $350.00 a month, but I only have 5 days for this offer, or it will be going to pre-court. Nonetheless my husband is
still laid off and the holidays are here. I don't make alot of money but I don't want a judgement either. Our their any other options that I don't know about, obviously I don't have the $1000.00 down payment and I can maybe pay $200.00 a month. I know I owe this and understand that, and because this was my bank account, I don't have on know. Any advise on this will be very appreciated
