I have a civil judgement against me for a vehicle repo from a few years ago. I am about to get married; Can they take any of my soon-to-be wifes belongings? Can they take a vehicle that I am Co-signed on with her that is financed? (Florida)

Hello: short ans...no they cannot take any of your wife's belongings. As for the vehicle, since it has a lien on it, they can't mess with it either. Having another person as joint owner may also prevent a creditor from messing with the car. Also, under Fla. Statutes, we have the value of $1,000.00 in a vehicle that is exempt from creditors.
