Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

collecetion charges

we recently moved and had all mail forwarded to new po box. all went well except CITGO; we gave change of addres on invoices + inserted letter with info. however it did not get to the right dept. evidently and we missed 2 payments before we realized it. We contacted Customer svc and explained; CITGO faxed us a bill which we paid the same day; in full.

The checks have been deposited.The very next day we were contacted by a collection company; we told them we were not notified or told the acct. had been sent to collections and that we had paid the bill in full anyways; now the collection agency wants us to pay their fees. ? ARE WE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY THE FEES??
