Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

How far can they go to collect?
I owned a single-wide trailor for quite some time, moved into a nice new home and tried to sell, rent, and anything else I could do to get rid of the trailor with no success. The burden financialy became to great to pay both my mortgage and the trailor payment. So I wrote them a voluntary conveyment letter and let it go. I talked to a lady from there company ( however did not get a name ) and thought that was it. That was about one year ago and I just got a phone call from one of their collection guys stating I needed to pay or they would take legal action, garnish wages and so forth. I told them I would not pay because they already reported a reposession on my credit report. The balance is approx. $8,000.00. I have a family of 5 to support and cannot pay these guys. Should I be concerned?

You should be concerned enough to consult with competent counsel. Thereafter you may make an informed determination as to how best to procede.
