Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

About Collection Agencies

Is there a statutory limit on payment of medical bills ? I was told by someone that if a medical bill has been due over 6 years you no longer have to pay it. Is this true? Thank you.

The statute of limitations runs from the time the payment was due or from the last time it was acknowledged in writing or from the last payment on account, whichever is last. Even if the s/l has run the bill can be voluntarily paid.
