Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

collection of estate bill

My grandmother recently passed away. At one time she loaned me money 16 or 17 yrs ago. She told me later that the money was a gift being that I was there anytime she needed anything. Also on 12/05 she gave me an extra refrig out of her home. My uncle which is executor of the estate is insisting that I pay this to the estate. He is upset because my mother recieved the house which is worth about $260K. Can he pursue this matter in court? He is sending these notices to my place of employment, my grandmothers house and my mothers house. They are from him personally not the lawyer of the estate and are sent regular mail not certified.

no. although he can pursue, he will not prevail. You may have a claim against him for his inappropriate actions.
