Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Collection practice legality.

I have been contacted by a firm that handles collections. I stated to them that I dispute the validity of the debt. The contact then read from my credit report. Are they allowed to request my credit report without my permission ? I feel that exposes me to more chances of someone stealing my identity. I look forward to your response.

Yes, they are allowed to request your credit report without your express permission.
