My gym admited their computer had an error that caused my account not to be charged for 10 months- the length of my membership. With no warning, they withdrew $375 today (for backed dues). When i called, they refrenced my contract where it states they can collect backed dues if i am responsible for missed dues. Well it was not my fault, and was/is their responsibility.

If your contract says they can do it, what makes you think they can't? Do you think you're entitled to six months of free membership? Is your boss entitled to six months of your work without pay?
Although I agree it's pretty crappy that they took the money out all at once, you also should have noticed that they weren't deducting the money all along.
I'd find a new gym with better computers.
