If I have a medical bill with a monthy payment of $57.12, but can only pay about $25 a month. Can the medical biller send me to collections. Knowing that I am unemployed and that this is all I can afford at this time?

Yes, they can send you to collections if they choose. Practically speaking you should call the hospital and ask to speak with the Business Office Manager and then advise him/her of your financial situation. If you offer a reasonable payment, they will probably accept it.
