Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
Collections - Reply Time Limit
Hello All,
I recently had a creditor contact me about an alleged payment due to my old landlord.
I know I had 30 days to reply and I did. I gave a letter with my position along with an offer to settle.
Now I have not heard back from them and they refuse to give me an answer, it has been 45 days.
How long do I have to wait for a reply? Do they have 30 days as well? how long before I can consider the matter closed if they never reply to me?
Please. Thank you.

Re: Collections - Reply Time Limit
You weren't really required to respond to them in any timeframe, and they aren't required to respond to you in any timeframe unless you stated a timeframe in your letter. You are allowed to write them again and say, "You have X days to respond," but they'll probably just ignore you.
