Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
A company issued me a check and I cashed it now they want their money back.
A company I bought some furniture from sent me a check. I cashed the check and now they want their money back because they say that I was not due the money. Can they get their money back?

Absolutely. If the check was issued in error and you cashed it, you may even face some possible criminal prosecution. Although I have never faced a situation exactly like this, it is similar to when a bank credits money in your account in error. You would have no rights whatsoever to that monies and the courts have held so many times.
