Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I cosigned a account with my former brother n law for semi tires he defaulted an owed the company $2800.00 the company has since sold the debt to a collection agency they are threatening to sue I am unemployed what are my options???

find out where the brother in law is and let them go after him. Surely he is working now and they can attach his paycheck.
