Cosigning

8 years ago my wife cosigned a loan with her x-boyfriend and we just received a call from a collection agency That it is delinquent. We paid it off and now want to know what legal action we can do if any to recoop the money. Thanks

It seems that the statute of limitations has run on the claim. Payment is also a full defense. Whether or not suit is commenced you may have rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Consult with competent counsel.
