Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Court date in Florida

I am due to appear in court for non payment of a credit card debt in St.Augustine on June 3rd, but neither have the money to travel there or the money to have a lawyer represent me. What's the worst that can happen if I just down't show? Also is there free legal aid in Florida or a public defender that can represent me in the meantime? Will they show up for me and who do I contact?

A judgment will be taken against you for the debt, interest, court costs and attorneys fees. That judgment can be transferred for collection against you in TX, but subject to Texas law. I don't know what kind of free legal aid FL has, but I doubt that it would be available in these cases.
