Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

crdit card fraud

I made a big mistake in my life and dont know what to do. I stole someones credit card at a place I worked and made fraudulant charges. They were under 100 dollars. the company that they were charged to called me and confronted me, I did not admit to doing but did say would pay them the amount. They wanted the money right now or they will contact the local authorities. This is the first time I've ever done anything like this and I actually feel horrible about it and want it resolved. What should I do?

Re: crdit card fraud

You could try paying the balance in full. That might keep them from contacting the authorities.

If they will accept payment in full and agree to not do anything further, you will be far ahead of the game. You should offer the payment in return for a General Release which is drafted by an attorney in which you do not admit any liability but agree to make the payment.
