credit bureaus

if a credit bureau sells an account to a collection agcy and you make a to the

collection agcy does the account become active for another 7 yrs.

If you make a payment on an old account the effect is that the statute of limitations starts over. If the original s/l was 4 yrs, then the 4 yr term starts anew.

The debt remains due and owing until it is paid. Any payment on an account will reset a statute of limitations, if any, on the account.
