Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Credit Card Collections

My ex husband has maxed out credit cards since our divorce and now I have creditors calling me at work and threatening to garnish my pay. I do not make much to begin with but I am really confused. Some of these cards were issued while married and others seem to have been obtained after. No purchases were made by me but the credit card companies will not take this into consideration. I want to know what recourse I can take to make the threatening stop and also to not have it effect my credit rating. PLEASE HELP !

Re: Credit Card Collections

The list of effective remedies is too long for me to enumerate here. I suggest you call me for an appointment, the first 15 minutes are without obligation. At that time we will review your situation and suggest avenues of relief. In the meanwhile direct the collectors to cease all contact with you. Also, keep a log of all contacts include who called you, the name of the company, where they called you, the time and the nature of the conversation.
