If they have obtained a judgment, part of your wages are subject to garnishment.

As stated in the other answer you received, they would need to get a judgment against you. That means they need to sue you, win the suit and get a judgment from the court before they have the right to garnish your wages. If they don't take these steps, then they have no legal right to garnish your wages.
