Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Credit Card Company Suing Me

I was served papers this morning, stating that a credit card I had 4 years ago is suing me in small claims court for $835.00. Do I need to have an attorney and what happens if I don't have the money to pay them. Can I go to jail. I am very upset and scared right now. I know that this company has a poor rating with the better business bureau and that they have many complaints against them from other card holders for fraudulant practices and harrassment. I need to know what to do.
