Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Credit card debt

I have about $15,000 in credit card debt which about $5,000 are finance charges. There has been no activity on these cards since 2001. What does the law say about having to pay this debt? I've overheard something about it getting wiped off after 7 years. It this true?

Have you been sued for the balance? If not, and you have made no payments and have not otherwise acknowledged the claim, then the s/l may bar enforcement .
