Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Credit Card Debt

My husband passed away in February

while being treated in Houston, TX

for cancer. We had two residences,

one in Texas and one in Florida

which is where my husband resided

until I relocated. I would like to

know if I am respoonsible for his

credit card debt if he was the only

one on the account and if so, what is

expected of me by the creditors if I

am not a co-signor?

Please Advise.

Re: Credit Card Debt

If his estate is probated in Texas, the debts would be community property and you would be responsible. I can't speak for Florida law if his estate is probated there.
