Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Credit Card debt

I received a letter stating that I owed $2000.00 for a credit card I owned 11 years ago. I was ordered to go to court (mediation) and I asked for the burden of proof that it was indeed my activity and my debt, and I also brought up the statue of limitation. I was then rescheduled for another court appearance with a judge in 2 months .... What should I do, or say to avoid paying for this debt? It's been sold to bill collectors and this one is the 4th person who bought it for less than a penny and wants to collect alot of money in fees and court cost. They threatened me with placing a ''judgment'' on my credit file and because I have a fairly good credit 700 .... I would hate to have it on my record. Can you pleae tell me what may be the next right I am entiltled to? thank you!
