Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Credit Card Garnishment in Florida

I was wondering if American Express could garnish my wages in this state. I have already paid a few payments to an attorney's office in a different city and my debt balance is 5,000. If they file a suit against me, can they absolutely garnish my wages?

If your wages are not exempt (such as you being "head of household"..which is a technical term), then they can be garnished.
