Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
If a credit card co (HSBC) charged off your acct under 2000. Is Midland Funding ( I assume the ones who bought the acct) allowed to take me to court for the balance? Will I have to pay? I only have social security.

You should hire a consumer lawyer to represent you. If the statute of limitations ran, you will win the case and have a claim against Midland for money damages and all your fees and costs will be paid by Midland. See www.ConsumerLawyerHelp.com for a consumer lawyer near you.
