Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
Credit Card Judgement
I had a judgement put against me in 2001 from Providian National Bank. With fees it equals out to $2720.38. Now I am recieving a letter from Stewart & Associates, stating this is the last attempt to collect and that they offering a opportunity to settle for a substantial savings off, but no amount is given. I am currently unemployed and would like to settle this, what is the general settlement amount with these type of judgements?

There is no "general settlement amount" for an unpaid judgment. I would try to offer about 25% of the total amount and negotiate from there. A lump sum payment will usually get the largest discount because the law collector is assured of the payment and will not have to spend any more time in collection after receipt. If you need to make payments, you should expect to pay a higher amount.
