Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Credit Card

About 2 months ago, my long time boyfriend talked me into getting a credit card for him to do dental work. Both of our names are on the card. We have resently broken up and the company will not remove my name. If this were to go to court who would have to pay the deibt? And should I cancle it before it gets anymore charges on it?
