Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
Credit Debt
My mother lives in FL and is 90 years old and failing health issues. She has alot of credit card debt and has been juggling this debt between cards for years. She can no longer juggle this debt both finacially and mentally, and only has an income of 700.00 a month from her pension. Other than bankruptcy what are her options?

Not many unless she can work out a repayment plan. The credit counseling agencies are usually a waste of time and money. They do nothing but take more money from a debtor.
If your mother cannot afford to pay the debt, you can choose to help her, or she can simply not pay it. They can take her to court and get a judgment if they choose, but will be unable to garnish her monies to satisfy it.
