Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

What is credit protection used for?

If credit protection is purchased for a credit card account, should the cardholder become unemployed, disabled, or deceased, how is it that they are demanding payment on one of my deceased fathers' accounts. I have been battling with an estate collector for months. He insures me if I submit payment, once they get their act together, the insurance will reimburse me. I was also told that if the estate is not in probate that they can not collect...is this true? I would rather not fork over a large amount to cover a debt that was not mine.

Re: What is credit protection used for?

Your question is not clear. If the debt was on a deceaseds' credit card, their estate is responsible to pay, not you.
