Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Credit report charge before 18

I am now 20 and I have only now found that their is a charge on my credit report from a doctor who posted a claim. I had Medicare or Medicaid until I was eighteen, and the charge was before my eighteenth birthday. Is this legal as I wasn't even eighteen? Or how about the fact that I had health insurance at the time.

Re: Credit report charge before 18

It is legal to post items on your credit report before you're 18. Why don't you report that claim to your Health Insurance or to Medicaid and see if it can be paid? Then, perhaps it can be removed from your credit.
