Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

credit report

I have derrogatorry information on my credit report that is schedule to come off my report next year. Does it get deleted permanently? If there is a balance owed, and the date for the information to come off comes, does it still get deleted from my record. Does my credit score improve then? I was told that If I pay them now they would still be shown as derrogatory until they are schedule to come off my report? Please advise?

Re: credit report

I can only tell you what should happen. Credit reporting agencies and the furnishers (creditors/debt collectors) don't always play by the rules (frequently don't). All the answers to your questions are "yes." If you pay them now there's a good chance that they will stay on your credit report longer. Crazy isn't it? Although it will probably increase your credit score immediately. These are general statements and may not apply to your particular situation. My best advice is to seek counsel from a consumer attorney. Good luck.
