Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Credit Reporting

In 2001 I filed for Chapter 7 and was granted a bankruptsy which is now cleared. I listed several credit cards to the court. The credit card companies chose to write off my balances as bad debt. upon review of my credit report, the credit card companies show my account as still open and written off as bad debt which is now affecting my credit.

A recent request for credit stated that I had too many credit cards uncollected. Currently I have only I new credit card that is up to date. Since these past credit card companies were listed in the bankruptcy is this illiegal reporting? Are the accounts sill considered open? I would like to write to these companies and request that they are to be shown closed due to bankruptcy although they elected to write it off as bad dept. Waht is the best way for me to correct this on my credit report?
