Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Creditor Calls Neighbors - Privacy, Damage

I have Auto loan with my bank.

My payments due 25th each month.

Last month, I was late.

Wife broke arm and when back to work, she waited five weeks for a full paycheck.

Wife works late, comes home 2 or 3 AM.

So, I disconnect my phone until 10 or 11 AM (let her sleep).

About 18 days late, my bank contacted at least two of my neighbors.

Two of my neighbors knocked on my door telling me my bank is trying to contact me.

Both of these neighbors asked how my bank got their number!

I live in a small private community with 70 properties around a pond. Neighbors talk. Word gets around. Now, almost everyone in my community knows my bank trying to contact me. My Neighbor, cut my grass and would not take money (who told him)?

I contacted my bank enraged. I told them they have violated the Privacy Act by contacting my neighbors. I told them they have done irreparable harm to my standing in my community. Bank says their auto dialer was calling repeatedly about 9 AM and since no answer, they decided to contact at least two of my neighbors.

My legal questions:

Did my bank violate any privacy laws by contacting my neighbors?

Is my bank responsible for the irreparable damage to my status in my community?
