Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

A creditor sued me. I hired an attorney. she filed 3 motions in court such as notice of appearance. The creditor then went into court and got a default judgement against me without notifying my attorney. They sent the judgement to my home. My attorney called them and tried to settle the debt but they refused. They proceeded without knowing I had an attorney. Could I have the judgement set aside?

The likelihood of you having the judgement set aside for that reason alone is slim to none. What other motions did your attorney file? There's are many more questions that need to be addressed before anyone can give you an answer. What did your attorney say when you asked him or her about getting the judgment set aside?

Depending on what actually occurred, you may be able to do so. The court file needs to be reviewed.
